Wow! Wow! Wow! I just finished watching the Student Driven Service from Sunday night. I am so proud and thankful for all of you! I plan to continue my series on “What hath God wrought?”, on the subject of the Christian life and technology. Today, however, I thought it was best to take a moment and celebrate how God used all of you on Sunday night.
In many ways this was the most “student driven” of all Student Driven Services. As you know I was not there. I was speaking at a church in SC. There are many other capable, loving youth leaders who help out on all the events. But I want to encourage all of you to look over the last couple weeks and see how much of the service was prepared completely by you as teenagers! You helped one another prepare. You worked as a team on the order of the service. You looked to include everyone in the process! What a great way to “not let people despise your youth” by giving such attention and taking this opportunity so seriously!
In our meetings before Sunday night many of you took big responsibilities. We encouraged you to “take it up a notch”. We had a way in which we had done many of the things in the order of the service but we wanted to see yo take it a step further. When I saw the presentation about our SOV Alumni, the video by Joshua Holt, the explanation of the Seventy Strong, and in every aspect of the service I was excited to see how you all took it “up a notch!”
I am so proud of all of you! There were so many special moments in the service. We must all rejoice with Alan as he was able to have his dad in the service! When I thought the night couldn’t get any better I heard about this. I love to hear you sing and teach. It is obvious you have prepared and that you desire to honor God with your opportunity! Our next Student Driven Service will be on December 31st! What a great way to end the year!
